 Sharon can't afford to give free readings like the previous President Sue could. Sharon doesn't work and her husband has had financial problems.

What is much worse than splitting fees for readings is that Forsyth has cut off the main funding for PTS by refusing to allow longterm renters, or in 2011, to allow any renters at all at 44 Parkfield. Before the Forsyth took over in the summer of 2008 by kicking out the Matiers off the PTS Committee, PTS has always been able to subsidize the cost of services for those unable to afford it because 3 to 4 flats provided something like £10,000 to £12,000.

The much bigger issue here is that Forsyth has deliberately cutoff PTS' main funding, which is the income of the flats at 44 Parkfield, and at the same time has installed a warden who is hostile to having to "share" the building with other tenants and believes strongly that everyone should pay at the door for services even if they're on a restricted income period. Before the current warden, previous wardens paid some rent and this warden has the primary use of the property except for the services and the sanctuary.

Forsyth is using the current warden because her presence serves his purpose in several ways: a warden who is hostile towards having other renters in the building (she despises having to share the toilets since none of the flats have their own toilet) unless they happen to be her friends or family (she lets them stay in one of the empty flats when they come to visit or when she's away) and who is hostile towards those who she doesn't want attending PTS services or who criticize her in any way.

Forsyth has in fact described her to others as "a nightmare" but of course she is the perfect person for Forsyth who is only interested in seeing PTS close its doors so he can sell the building at a low appraisal price and then have a developer (probably it'll be a friend of his) come in and turn 44 Parkfield into a dozen expensive flats. The irony is that she, Denise, thinks that she's been the reason why PTS hasn't closed its doors and she thinks she's done a terrific job as warden and as the unofficial PTS Secretary--she attends many monthly PTS Committee Meetings even though she's not offically a PTS Committee member and the Warden can not be a PTS committee member per the PTS constitution--and Forsyth feeds her ego by checking in with her about everything in secret meetings before/after, in emails and on the many ph calls.

Meanwhile, PTS is being deprived of thousands of pounds every year because of Forsyth and the Warden, so this is much worse than Sharon splitting her fees.

I don't think that the PTS members ever intended to turn over the 44 Parkfield building for the primary benefit for the current Warden or for Forsyth to run the property down and also run down membership.
