Subject: The Mermaid Author: The Unknown Poster (NOT the Unknown Host) [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] Date Posted: Wednesday, May 1 2002, 5:20pm Three men are fishing out in the middle of a huge lake. The first man feels a bite so he jerks in his line and in plops this beautiful mermaid. She begins to cry and beg for the men to release her. They are ruthless and will not let her go! She says that she will grant them each one wish if they let her go. They think about it and finally agree. The first man steps up and asks the mermaid for double his intelligence. She says, "done" and suddenly the man begins to solve mathematical equations in his mind. The second man asks the mermaid to triple his intelligence. She says, "done" and suddenly the man begins to recite Shakespearean sonnets. The third man decides to out do them all and asks the mermaid to quadruple his intelligence. This time the mermaid stops and says, "you might not want to do that! You will begin to see the world in a totally different light!" The man stands fast and says, "no, I want you to quadruple my intelligence before I take you home to be my slave!" The mermaid looks at him sadly and softly says, "done".
