Uh, hi eduna! i'm richard, one of chris and jess' friends (i believe they already told you about me). I honestly must admit that I do not know much about computers and technology, that is Chris and Jess' department, but I do trust what they have to say in those departments. I do have a question if you don't mind, can you see people through something like a web cam? You've let us see your picture, but you haven't seen ours. it just doesn't seem fair if that makes any sense. As for the encryption discussion, agian i must admit that most of it goes over my head, but the fact that you refrained from reading our emails not only speaks to your honor but also to establishing trust between you chris, jess, myself, and robert. Trust I would argue is a hugely important thing; it's really what makes the four of us strong. So, if we can trust you and you trust us we'll both be better off. i'm a big fan of trust :).

i may not know computers, but i do know people, so think i can shed a little more light onto the anime girl picture question. the image you had selected earlier has both a cultural and psychological significane. Like jess said, that image is culturally inscribed with concepts of infancy and powerlessness. also, it is specifically linked to a music video that came out a couple years ago, thus it also speaks to commercialism and impermanence. all things a person on the up-and-up like yourself wouldn't want to be associated with. also, the traits of an "anime girl" that being large eyes, small mouth, oversized head, etc. are psychological super-releasors. super-releasors are visual representations that exagerate biological proportions to illicit (an often subconscious) reaction in the human mind. the traits listed above inspire fellings of protection, nurturing, and happiness like a infant traditionally does. actually, these traits are generally viewed as a survival mechanism; it keeps things like babies, puppies, and kittens alive by being "cute." Were you in some sort of danger when you piced that image? if so, you don't have to worry with us.

if you wanna know more about the effects visual representation has on the human mind there is a text called "Art and Psychology." I can't remember the author's name, but i'm sure you'll be able to find it :).

sorry to ramble on so,
richard
