I am a birthmom in an open adoption. I am a practicing Catholic. I also feel that those who are Gay/Lesbian should be able to adopt if they are able to parent a child or children. I feel quite strongly about it and also feel that civil unions or something to the effect of equalizing the legal constraints imposed on homosexuals should happen in our country. I also think though that it's important to properly educate as much as possible about the long term effects that being homosexual has on the individual, their families, and society. I have read up on it quite a bit as my bson's paternal gma is gay. It's unfortunate that not more is done to bridge the gap between religious groups in their understanding and support for people who are homosexual and those who care about them. Especially those who might fear them. I myself used be sceptical but I know better now. Good luck in your efforts to make Gay Adoption more of a reality and accepted in our society and especially in the Cleveland communties as that is our local society. You got my vote!
