Revelation 16:8-11 And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire. 9 And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory. 10 And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the seat of the beast; and his kingdom was full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for pain, 11 And blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and repented not of their deeds.
If you ever wondered what true global warming is then look no further. It is not man made but in a sense it is man caused. Shaking your fist in the face of God will get you no where you want to be. In these 4 verses you can see the attitude of fallen man. It is much the same attitude that Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego had but their refusing to bow to false God's got them blessings from the true God. These people in these verses were following Satan in much the same manner as the angels which rebelled against God did.
One of the unfathomable things about this is they knew where the plagues and terrible catastrophes were coming from and they knew how to turn the wrath of God but they would not do it to save their souls from an everlasting hell. Through the seals, trumpets and now the vials they remained adamant they would not bow before God. Nothing God could do would make them bow and so their punishments became increasingly severe. Millions had already been annihilated at this point and for years they had suffered. Instead of repenting they only tried to hide. Revelation 6:14-17 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. 15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; 16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: 17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?
Astonishing that the people in these verses would rather be crushed by the mountains and rocks than to bow and cry "Jesus is Lord" (Romans 14:11-12, Plp. 2:9-11). These were not ignorant of this great destruction for they cried to be hidden from God on the throne and the wrath of the Lamb. They knew without a doubt.
It is all reminiscent of Pharaoh and the Egyptians in the days of Moses and the exodus. Pharaoh and the Egyptians knew yet they would not turn from their gods to the living God and live and be blessed. Pharaoh's arrogance and stiffed necked pride destroyed him and Egypt. So shall it be in the tribulation.
There are lost people today which know what the Bible says about these days which are coming on all the world to try it. They have heard it preached and witnessed to them that God's wrath is coming. They have been told the only way to escape the wrath of God is to repent and trust Jesus as their Savior. They have been told of a heaven to gain and a hell to shun. They have been witnessed to about eternity spent in either heaven or hell. Will they repent? In most cases no. Matthew 7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
There will come a time when God will have given man his last chance and then the door will be shut just as it was in the ark before the rain started. It is then all the pleading in the world will not move God. When a man crosses that line all the praying, repenting and pleading will do no good whatsoever. Proverbs 1:22-28 How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge? 23 Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you. 24 Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded; 25 But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof: 26 I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh; 27 When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you. 28 Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:
