Subject: Strength Through Diversity?

Genesis 11:1-9 And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech. 2 And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there. 3 And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them throughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter. 4 And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth. 5 And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded. 6 And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. 7 Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech. 8 So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city. 9 Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth. `

Have you ever heard the statement; "We are stronger through diversity"? This is a statement that has been going around for several years now, especially in the political and educational realm. It has even gained traction in some of the denominations of churches through out our land. Have any stopped and thought about that statement as to whether it is true or bogus?

In the verses above we have an illustration of the hand of God working when there was unity in the land with the purpose of opposing God. When God wanted to stop them from having "one accord" (Acts 1:14) He confounded their languages so they could not understand one another. What happened? They scattered and the city they were building went unfinished. You would think that common sense would come into play and people would realize that diverse thinking and speaking would hinder goals. Not with the politically correct geniuses of today. I just crossed this headline a few moments ago. "Biden boasts end of Caucasian majority in U.S. 'Diversity is the reason for our incredible strength' ". You betcha Joe! You would think that taking a look around and seeing our status and abilities now and comparing them with a few short decades ago might wake some folks up but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Examples of mixing diverse peoples are plentiful. Whether it is ethnic diversity, religious diversity or language diversity you are going to have problems if the people are not single minded. While the greatest problems with diversity are in the secular world the Church is not immune.

Concerning the Church Paul said this in Romans: Romans 15:5-6 Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus: 6 That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Likeminded toward each other and single minded toward God for the purpose of worship and praise. 2 Corinthians 13:11 Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.

There is no place for diversity in the Church. When we become Christians we find there is no longer room for division in thought or worship. Galatians 3:27-29 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Diversity in the secular world and in the Church bring neither strength nor harmony. God recognizes this and therefore makes us one in Christ and puts away divisions and differences.

There is nothing in the secular world that can accomplish this. Take note of Ferguson, New York, Berkley and many other places where there is rioting and disruption of civil accord. Even those who would get along and put away there diversity are overwhelmed by the chaos that has taken place. Look at religious diversity. Everywhere Islam has become a strong presence Christians and Jews start feeling persecution. Look at Great Britain. Civil unrest by an ethnic minority that will not accept and adopt the customs of their host country. It is the same way here. At one time it was mandatory for immigrants to learn the ways and speech of the United States in order to become a citizen. This was gladly accepted and those who integrated into our society became very productive and were mainly accepted into the society regardless of their religion or race. People respect others who work hard and overcome obstacles. Those who want to change the American way and will not accept our customs and ethics are in turn rejected. I realize their are exceptions to this but exceptions prove rules.

Matthew 12:24-26 But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils. 25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand: 26 And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?

In this nation today we have a powerful movement from the highest office in the land to try and divide this land to bring it to ruin. The one who is behind this movement is none other than Satan himself working through willing disciples. He is succeeding. With racial turmoil and creating a frenzy against the rule of law through the present administration this nation has been severely weakened. Through the opening of the flood gates to millions of immigrants who have no intention of integrating into our society in a lawful and just manner this administration is bringing this "house" to desolation.

I hope we would not ever swallow the lie that all this diversity will make us stronger. Quite the contrary it will destroy us. That is the aim of the devil and it's henchmen of this present administration.

I'm for diversity and blending cultures, but not at the expense of rejecting our own culture and traditions. We used to be a melting pot, blending the best and brightest from all countries with the best and brightest of ours. Now we celebrate mediocrity in the name of fairness to all. What a mixed up mess.
And I agree that much of this social change was brought about by the president and his radical, left-wing associates. What has been happening in this country could be taken from the pages of the Communist Manifesto in how to destroy capitalism and success and welcome socialism. He really has pleased Satan, that's for sure.
Secularism will be the order of the day when our grandchildren are adults. I'm glad we won't be here to see it, aren't you?

If that promise is realized as soon as I believe it will be then the King of glory will put a stop to this madness before long and I all of God's children will be enjoying the pleasure of a perfect government with Jesus on the throne.

I don't know if I'm ready for it, yet, but God will be the one who decides that, right?
