The Captain is I believe still around, and looks in occasionally.
We go to quite a lot of trouble to ensure that updates are all dated in bold type for ease of search. Usually the more recent are towards the foot of each beach report. If you go to the bottom right corner of each island's page and click on the "History" link, you can see all versions since going Wiki in 2011. (If you don't see the row of links including History, then it's high time for you to join - it's free!)
There's also the "Recent Changes" link in the left-hand (sandy footprints) column, but this does get cluttered by the admin editing from time to time. It's a perpetual problem to know when to delete older information.....
