Obviously, the information will vary from person to person. I just thought it was interesting that at a time when I weighed what I might now like to weigh for the rest of my life (160) and I was not active at all, that 1300 was what I needed to maintain function... Made me realize that what books like "making Peace with Food" say is true, that most diets are forcing our metabolisms to slow down because our bodies think they are being starved or surviving a famine.

Check with excellent research hospitals. I did the study at Yale through their Psych department. Maybe there is a way you can learn this too.

In any event, the tests are done for people who are at a risk for diabetes I believe, since I had the glucose tolerance test on the same day... Ask your MD.
