Yes, I had PE as a child. I lived where it snowed and when there was snow on the ground, guess where we had PE?
In the gym, not outside. Some people are very fair skinned and therefore more sensitive to skin cancer--not all people are. And yes, my children are in sports, in fact they are in them all year long for the most part. And, yes we go to the pool and all sorts of outdoor activites all summer long. But, there again we are able to put sunscreen on before we are outside. Don't kid yourself, skin cancer is very much a health risk, for some people. It is not a matter of being in the sun. It is a matter of being able to have sun block on before the children in the later PE classes, before they go out. Also, the heat is a health facter. The school district spent a huge amount of money to build that small building--let's at least use it!
