The traffic issues will hopefully be somewhat better, although never resolved through student education. This is one the ideas presented at the first Chat Time Meeting on 5/3/02.
Parent involvement will alas always remain a problem. In any type of organization whether it be school, religious or service oriented, there are always those few individuals that perform the majority of the work. No matter how hard an organization solicits volunteers, there will always be a percentage that will not participate in any activity. Sad, but true, you will always have a percentage that pitch in and contribute and you will always have a percentage that do nothing but complain and yet never seek to make things better. I for one have faith in our parent population and trust that through the monthly chat sessions and this forum more parent involvement will be forthcoming.
I hate to be wordy but please read the following:
Keep us, oh God, from pettiness; Let us be large in thought, word, in deed, Let us be done with fault-finding and leave off self-seeking. May we put away all pretense and meet each other face to fact without self-pity and without prejudice. May we never be hasty in judgement and always generous. Let us take time for all things; make us to grow calm, serene, gentle. Teach us to put into action our better impulses, straightforward, and unafraid. Grant that we may realize it is the little things that create differences, that in the big things of life we are at one. And may we strive to touch and to know the great, common human heart of us all, and, oh Lord God, let us forget-not to be kind! - Author, Mary Stewart
