Thea looked back down at her hands, clutching her glass. She wasn't a very social person, and just didn't know how to interact with people. Sure, she could act casual if the situation called for it, but her whole lifestyle demanded that she always be alert and aware of every little thing around her. Why, even now, she was aware of almost everything going on in Pairseas tavern. Leica was handing a rather proper young lady a torn-up menu. From the tone of the lady's voice, and even from the way she held herself so upright and stiff, Thea could tell that she must be unaccustomed to life as a commoner, and was probably nobility or even royalty. The furry at the table nearby was looking at her amusedly, and Thea guessed that they had met before. Furries weren't entirely uncommon creatures, but they were uncommon enough that Thea figured the noble-in-disguise just didn't know what to make of the half-animal, half-human. Why, she probably had never seen a furry before this one. Meanwhile, Rune was staring straight at her, though he obviously was observing every minute detail of their surroundings almost as discreetly as she herself was. But she could tell, with his half glances all around, that he was no ordinary citizen of Cala Armon. So who was this guy?
"What is it, exactly, that you do, Rune?" she inquired.
