The Proforma Pirates dropped their second straight game 10-3 to Smokehouse Blue in the Brookline Adult Softball League before another sellout crowd of 3 at Larz Anderson Field. The Bad News Pirates who are seemingly on their way to a Tampa Bay Devil Rays losing streak were able to muster only 3 hits in the defeat. General Manager David Burnes, feeling the pressure from team owner Mark "Steinbrenner" Resnick, waived infielder/outfielder Tony"Dorn"Spinelli immediately following the game, only to have him unfortunately clear the midnight waiver wire due to lack of interest from any team. Spinelli whose crucial first inning error helped start Smokehouse Blues onslaught leading to a towering two-run homer will be the subject of trade rumors for weeks to come. His 0-6 start at the plate and team leading 2 errors along with his Bud-Light contract may make him hard to move. The Pirates did receive a fair outing from Mike" My girlfriend met me at the Beer Garden" Lee, who continues to lead the league in illegal pitches. Lee was hit hard for two innings and 13 hits but was consistent in throwing strikes. Jay"Smokehouse" Tully,a former replacementplayer as a DH in the 1994 strike shortened season for the Minnesota Twinkies was a bright spot to the dismal Pirates lineup by using his alligator like speed to beat out an infield hit.His defensive play was limited though as he swiftly ran in on a lineronly to have it fly over his burely body. Also making his debut, Kevin Tobin-Ryan solidified a starting spot in centerfield with a base hit and plenty of good defensive plays. Matt "Jack Clark" MacDonald played well in right field but lacked the power at the plate that was anticipated. Pirates GM David Burnes showing visible anger was asked following the game whether or not he still believes the Pirates have a shot at the league playoffs. "Playoffs..How can you talk about playoffs. We suck right now. Thisteam needs reach within, battle this adversity, and take pride in being Proforma Pirates. Someone needs to step up in that clubhouse and lead this group. Its not over yet. But to talk about playoffs at this point is ridiculous." When told about Burnes' comment about the team, lead of hitter John "Rickey" Resnick replied, " I'm not worried about what he says.I don't see the fans asking for his autograph. Let's talk about me. Did you see me out there. I still got game. I may not see too well but I'm a performer and entertainer out there. You can write that." After hearing Resnicks comment Burnes retaliated by saying" Rickey will be Rickey, He does own thing. But what bothers me is when I hear our Pitcher Mike Lee has his girlfried meeting him after games in the Team Clubhouse(Beer Garden). This crap won't be tolerated."Turmoil seems to be taking over this clubhouse as the Pirates lookto break their losing streak tomorrow night against the winless Sokoup Marble and tile club at Baker Park. I'm sure changes areon the horizon. Manager Greg Jurkiwicz will need to look to build on the few positives. " We'll make some changes. I don't have a set lineup yet. I'm looking for commitment out of these guys. I'm considering using these first five games as a tryout. I'll find out who wants to win on this team. Look for a rebound in our play." Let's hope the Pirates end their early season gitters with a win tomorrow night.

Pirates notes:

Kangeroo court judge Doc Burnes will be imposing several team fines by tomorrow nights start..Mike Lee looks to be leading the list of those receiving a fine by having his girlfriend meet him at the Beer Gardenfollowing last nights loss...Jonh Walsh is almost sure to get one for lack of post game involvement...Matt " Jack Clark" MacDonald receives kudos for his play in right and also in Atlanta where he got laid for the first time in ages.. What you see is whatyou get out of the professional hitting Jay "smokehouse"Tully...Tony Spinelli's game apparrel was courtesy of Bruce and Sergio's of the South End..Doc Burnes might have pulled a hamstring in the first inning but pulled through with post game beers..Matt "Ass Kicker" Devlin seems to have a great living situation and is hitting it well at home but continues to struggle at the plate..More post game activity is anticipated for tomorrows game..Someone step up and bring Ketchup packets and a Burger King Crown tomorrow..The crown will be worn on the field for a full inning and go to anyone who makes an error, it will be passed on..The Ketchup is for Walshy..Team uniforms should be in in for Wednesdays game, word is
