Despite asking locals/residents on the island, seems there are certain periods where there may be a higher chance of encountering jellies. Haven't quite ascertained when these periods are. I've always gone in June the last 5 yrs - had jellies twice. Schools of them appear and remain 1-2 days, then disappear after that. So maybe it depends on weather, tides/currents etc.

Best is to cover up with those UV type suits or wear wetsuits. Best form of protection is reduced skin exposure.
