how to get to pasir panjang from berjaya beach resort
Hi,
I'm planning a trip to Berjaya Beach Redang Resort sometimes next month. This will be my first visit to this beautiful island.
I'm wondering how do I get around to Pasir Panjang from Berjaya Beach Resort which is located at Teluk Dalam, on the side of the island.
Does the resort provide a shuttle service which can drop guests off at Pasir Panjang? Or do I have to hike all the way to Pasir Panjang? Or do I have to rent a boat? I heard the boat rental fee is VERY EXPENSIVE. Is it true?

There is no road connecting Teluk Dalam to Pasir Panjang. The only way to commute between the 2 places is to trek (about 40 minutes brisk walking) or try chartering a boat from the village nearby. If you have friends to split the cost of the boat, it shouldn't be too expensive. Some of the villagers provide snorkelling boat trips which are charged something like RM50 per head (but requires min 2 ppl), so you should not expect to pay more than this if all you want is to get to Pasir Panjang - try bargaining with the village folks. Alternatively, you might even want to consider 1-way boat trip to Pasir Panjang and then trek back.

I just came back from Berjaya Beach Resort. What you can do is to approach the activity centre and let them know you want to go to Pasir Panjang.
They charged me RM30 per head round trip. They will drop you off right in front of Launga.
You can arrange with the boatman the time to pick you up. :)

Almost forgot, the staff at Berjaya do say different things sometimes. On the first day when I want to take a boat to Pasir Panjang, the guy told me I need to get at least 4 pax, if not I got to pay rm30x4 for the boat.
The next day, when i book it with another staff, he never mention anything about it. Just told me to be at the jetty 5 min before the boat leaves.
Hope you wont have any problem with them.
