Subject: Cost of Water Taxis & To: Ivy, question for you

Hey ya all,

Just wondering what rates did you guys pay for water taxis. Specifically from Pansir Panjang beach to Berjaya or vice versa. One way or two ways? Who, what and when, thanks!

We paid the resort 30 Riggit per head from Berjaya back to Pasir Panjang (Coral Redang Island = CRI). Everything okay but the cost is a little steep.

Boat was clean and in good condition, crew of two and medium speed craft with inboard motor, could take may be 10 to 15 people maximum. It was a comfortable boat ride - not like mission impossible type ride ;)

** Ivy ***,
I could not contact Zaki, his mobile either had no coverage or was out of range at the time, call went into voice mail. We pressed for time and contacted CRI instead. Pretty costly because of the charge per person basis. Luckily, it was just me and my father. 60 Riggit total. What's your take on the private operators? Value for money? Boat condition? Friendly, easy going boatman? Etcetra...

Hi Tangotee,

Sorry for my late reply as i was busy lately.

Oh is it? You couldnt contact Zaki? Did you try to contact Joe, his friend? That time, we travelled on Zaki's speedboat from Berjaya to Pasir Panjang costs RM 25 per head (2-way), total RM50, very worth it. Furthermore, only two of us on the boat, no other people sharing with us.

The speedboat is very clean type which can charter abt 10 persons only. I can see the speedboat is in very good and new condition. Furthermore, they are very prompt in chartering us back from Pasir Panjang to Berjaya too, just name our preference timing to them will do. Overall, very fun and enjoyable trip. :)

Hi Ivy,

Cellphone batt. was dying on me, and tired from the 1 3/4 hour trek, so one try to Zaki was all I did. I have NO doubt they good, just needed to get back quick to Coral.

Will most definitely try again the next time, gotta lower cost and increase experiences with each new visit... know what I mean. For us first timers, it was okay to spend a little more. Thanks though, great info about the snorkelling deal. Will use that also in next visit.

Great, 10 people, incase if I do return a larger group. That's nice to know they are using sea-worth vessels. Cheers!
