Hey Princess,

Don't worry, the weather is weird... heard from a Nature lover of Palau Ubin that South East Asia is in for unexpected Al Nino weather. Hence the recently long rainfall during the weekend. Someone mentioned in the forum that the weather in Redang does not follow what was reported in the news for Terrenganu...

Now that I've been there, I can say this myself. I was checking weather reports a week before going and everyday it was thunderstorms or isolated thundershowers, got me worried. It was mentioned also in the forum that it rains but only briefly... that too I can atest to. Day 2 saw rain clouds (really dark and black) but it did not rain and when it did the clouds have moved into inner island up the hills. So if it does, it only be a while, lets us hope and pray.

BTW, Berjaya being in Teluk Dalam Kercil is quite shelterd in someways compared to Pasir Panjang, at least the water is, as it is a bay. So less chance of choppy water.

I packed a small umbrella for the trip in August. Only if you want to, bring one. I took one that has a metal rod, try the plastic or bamboo one. Day 3, after dinner at Redang Beach, it boom once and then light drizzle, started to rain heavy (that's what we thought), walked quickly back to Coral, but the time in the room, the rains have stopped. You see, we saw lighting from afar and winds have picked up a little - nice hearing the coconut leave rustling in the breeze on a dark night. But the rains were over yonder and not from where we were. Pansir Panjang had only 10 minutes of rain the most, not even heavy. Relax, I bet you have good stuff to report when you get back.

Enjoy, your trip and buckle up, see the fantastic light show at the oil refineries after Kuantan Pass if you awake at the time.

I envy you!
Selamat Dedang, Redang!

Tango
