It is going to be like Tioman. The housereef will have a difficult time to recover from the pollution. One way to have less people visit the island, especially on Pasir Panjang beach.

Imagine, there were 295 or so rooms in 2002 and 2003 has an additional 212 Laguna rooms and more rooms added to Redang Beach, a total of 543 guest rooms plus more staff quarters. Can Pasir Panjang beach substain over 1,000 people during peak periods? Surely the marine life will suffer with the demise of the coral reef.

It would have been better if Redang was not so well known to come to think of it. Too late now. It is up to the government and the Nature Society of Malaysia to get things under control.

You know, it amazes me to see how people treat the beach like a dump just because they're visiting and paying for their stay. Don't they know there is no clean up crew to pick up trash!?! Of course they know, they just don't care. Only the high tide has been carrying out the garbage to the open sea. With more people coming, in no time it will be like the beaches in Singapore, all dirty and murky. Man! It is so sad!

I still remember that Redang was a very peaceful place, not alot of people when i was there a few years back. Now, it is very crowded, if they are able to take care of the place. Then it is good. If not, too bad !

It will b a real pity/sad thing if redang really turns out tat way. Hopefully they would stop the building and digging and let the place rejuvenate...

I hate to see such a beautiful place ruin when i revisit it another time. Thinking such as "there are other islands like redang, so one lost is fine" should not b the way man! We should never take things for granted...
