(The scene that ensued could have been something out of a low grade prison film, and entailed a surprised Gabriel being surrounded by the five Marita brothers and a pleading Jewel and the anger in the room could have boiled a pot of water. Gabe attempted to remain calm and smug, and it wasn't the blatant anger on Rico, MIkhail or his father's faces, or the downright disgust on Jandro's face.. it was the calm, brooding quietness of his Uncle Kade that scared the piss out of him. He had always been able to deal with anger, but no matter what he said to Kade right now, he knew he was getting backhanded somehow. Kade was the tallest and broadest of the Marita boys, the one who could stare down any man, even if he was going to lose. At that point, Kade reached down and picked Gabe up by the back of his neck from where he was sitting at the metal table in the conference room. Gabe cried out, but there was nothing he could do until Kade set him on his feet. As soon as he had his feet, Ricque slapped the back of his head and within moments all six men were arguing in spanish.)

She nearly growled in frustation before she finally stood up, her eyes on all the men. "Stop it!" She yelled, waiting till it was silent and all the men were looking at her - all the Marita men, especially her husband - knew not to mess with a woman when her voice raised like that. "Now..." She cleared her throat, sitting down across from Gabe. "Tell me, Gabriel, what had you going at 140 miles per hour out of town?" She had a feeling it had something to do with the baby but she wanted to hear it from him. "...and just know, you are long past the point where lying would be beneficial."
