Ginger let the yearling colt into the school, closed the gate and disappeared into a small hut. A few minutes later she came out with a bridle and light saddle. She put the saddle down by the hut and came towards the yearling with the bridle. She scratched his neck and smiled. "I don't think you'll like this boy, but it has to be done." she said. She warmed up the bit, so it wouldn't be a great shock to have something so cold in his mouth. Carefully, she put the loose fitting bridle on, but didn't fasten anything. "It's alright, it's only a bridle." she said in a soothing voice, hoping the yearling wouldn't be in too much shock.
