Indeed, Taplow Lodge was an incredibly creepy place. If I had a time machine, I'd probably go back to when it still stood. Fantastic place to explore it was.

As for Barbara Ansell, she did look rather scary in some photos I've seen, but it must be said that virtually everyone who we've heard from regarding her says that she was wonderful and made their stay far less painful.

Apparently.
