Well, I purchased a dress from Darius Cordell last year and I love it. And my experience with them was just fine.

I also now have a friend who works there. So when I read this I was concerned. Therefore I showed this horrible posting to them. And have since learned the facts and have concluded that you Elizabeth E. Reinhold (EER) are a liar. And you should be totally ashamed of yourself.

The facts are....

....you ordered a dress on November 19, 2005

....your dress was in fact shipped to you on JANUARY 20...you did not sign for it then because you got upset because they did not respond to your emails (of which they showed me) on the day you wanted. But I saw where they told you they would contact you when it was finished, I also saw the contract you signed (just like I did) that said how long it takes to make) - so what was your deal.

....and you did in fact receive your dress. It was delivered to your address in Sandfrod Florida on FEBRUARY 2. (Jackie - (JD) showed me the tracking info)

What makes matters worse is your wedding was supposedly MARCH 17...!!!

It was ready in JANUARY...all you had to do was sign for it.

So, SHAME ON YOU (anonymous Elizabeth E. Reinhold of sandford Florida) ...for telling a big huge LIE and for attempting to bash a company and attempting to affect a persons livelihood - just because you were an impatient BRIDE-ZILLA.

That is so very sad! Again you should be so ashamed of yourself. And based on what I have been told...you should get a good lawyer.

You make boards like these unseemly & shady. It is one thing to have an opinion. It is something all together different to lie. You anonymous EER (i.e. Elizabeth E. Reinhold ) - deserve to be called a BRIDE-ZILLA and you deserve all that karma will bring your way for this horribly lie.

They are terrible. You cannot talk with a real person. They communicate, when they do bother to communicate by email only. No person to person contact at all. No way to do business, especially when you are talking about spending a large sum of money on a gown.

This company is bad news. Go to www.ripoffreport.com and search for all complaints. You are not alone. All pageant contestants should be warned that this company is hostile. I would guess that the owner is experiencing a mental breakdown from the bizarre emails it sends to customers.

Darius Cordell Murphy aka Jacqulyn DeVaroe is the owner of this company. He is an old jaded drag queen. Was Miss Gay America ages ago. Graduated from Lake Highlands H.S.(Dallas,TX)in 1987. Then attended the University of Oklahoma. That should give you are starting point for information on this goof ball.

Had the same experience with this company as EER. They are rude and obnoxious to all potential clients. Can't wait for this company to go OUT OF BUSINESS.

Go to www.ripoffreport.com to view all similar complaints about this hostile old drag queen. He reacted the same way when I asked a question about gowns. I went to the site to ask for some pictures of some formal gowns and they sent me a response and I send one back to let them know I didn't like the designs and was looking elsewhere... I asked some questions through his website and I got a bunch of really insane, long emails responses. When I said I didn't want to buy a dress from him, he blew up and started insulting me and making threats. I think the guy is off his rocker. I told him to leave me alone and not contact me again...he will not stop contacting me! He threatened me, saying he knew my IP address and name...so could find where I live. I'm considering contacting the police if the harassment does not stop. I can't believe I was so close to buying as dress from him.UGh..

I recently ordered a wedding dress from Darius Cordell. Most of the communication I received over the course of the production of the dress was very delayed and rude once received.

I did not receive the wedding dress, nor was I notified that I would or would not receive it. I was left hanging on the most important day of my life. Three weeks after the wedding I requested a reimbursement of the full balance, that was paid with due diligence, I received a ranting, rude, insulting and threating response. All email communications were saved and are available as proof of the above claim. Due to the threats made to me by Darius Cordell I choose to remain private. Under no circumstance would I recommend anyone have business dealings with this company. Complaints should pop up with every search engine to prevent others from having a nightmare experience.

Are you sure tyou have not received your dress?

You just let someone charge your card and you have not received your dress.....

I bet they told you like they did me....excessive emails and correspondence is not neccesary.....especially when they tell you....we will contact you as soon as it is complete.

IF you are one of those that likes to comtine to ask (until teh cows come home) "are we there yet"....that doesnot make someone else unprofessional it makes you impatient

It is APRIL....it does notmake much sense for you to have orderded, paid and not received naything by now and just let the charges to your card be...

Most people would have disputed the charges....

I bet you did receive your dress and you are just disgrunteld becuase you did not read the emaisl they gabve you.

I think there is a bitter lie in there somewhere.

I was searching for a Gown and have been to the Darius Cordell site quite a few times. Oh but how glad am I that I did some research. These dresses are Unique and Beautifully made. I have seen nothing like them, but its not worth the headache. When you are planning one of the biggest events of your life SERVICE is key. I pray blessing to those who were effected by these unfortunate situations. I also pray blessing over the heart of Darius Cordell and his staff to reach some reasonable resolutions with these customers.

Yes Their designs are beautiful but I too have had very rude emails while trying to get info - if you are getting a custom dress you need custom service. I will take my ideas inspired from their lovely designs and hire my own semstress who will be very helpful and womderful to talk to. They are most rude and not worth the attitude.

I do put a caviat on the aging queen comment. That is not fair. Not all aging gay men are rude and arrogant.

This is by far the worse company I have tried to deal with. No telephone or personal contact at all. Even emails are not answered in a timely manner and you are left guessing if they were received. Still trying to collect for a dress I did not receive three years ago even though three collection agencies and two lawyers refused to try and collect because no dress was ever received. Check out their BBB rating. "F" is as low as the ratings go. "F" is their rating. Spare yourself the headache and money. There are too many other reputable companies with good customer service.

Thank you for all the info. I have been communicating with them via email and they are very rude and unhelpful. They want lots of money, but make you get measurements elsewhere and will not meet with you in person. I thought this was all a little odd and now I know. These people are the rudest company I have ever considered doing business with. For the money that they charge, they should set up a FREE consultation with you and take your measurements. They just want to have someone else to blame when your dress comes back wrong. BAD company. Thanks everyone for making my decison easier.

These people are terrible, but I ended up getting my dress free after filing a small claims complaint with the Clerk of Court. They took my measurements and instead of making my dress to spec they tried to cut down a size 16. It was a disaster and I had to have a local seamstress fix it. They were rude ,refused to accept any responsibility, then tried to charge me for each phone call at an hourly rate. It was ridiculous. Talk to an attorney. Sale of goods are covered by UCC. Keep all your records. Better yet - don't deal with these jokers.

I had the SAME experience back in 2004. Rude rude rude. And the owner is an uneducated ignoramus, as evidenced by the grammatical errors and typos in the emails. He does pretend to be different people in different emails and on different calls, by the way. I was convinced of this.

I fell in love with one of his dresses online, and only wish I had had enough sense to print out the photo and take it to a local dressmaker.

When I took the dress in for alterations after it arrived, the dressmaker told me she could have made the dress for less than HALF of what I spent. And I needed significant changes made anyway.

Do NOT support these people with your money.

You will absolutely save money if you print out pictures of the dresses you like and take them to a local dressmaker. They can see what you like, make modifications, take your measurements -- for free -- and then design and make a dress made perfectly for you. For a FRACTION of the cost.

I am not kidding. Before you do business with these kooks, at least visit a local dressmaker and get a quote.

I just had a horrific experience with them, I tried to order my dress, when I called no one answered the phone. When I left my phone number, instead of a call back, I recieved an email. They demanded that I communicate via email, then got rude when I tried to talk him he got more rude. Then I was told not to email them back.

These people are con-artist if you either don't want to have your day spoiled or end up having to pay much more than you agreed to, then you won't want to have any thing to do with them.

I ordered a dress from them for $640.00, we sent them a check for 50% down and put on the check that this was for 50% off the amount, leaving a balance of $320.00, plus shipping. We required nothing from them, no help on measurements, nothing other than price quotes. At no time did my fiance have any contact with them or sign anything.

approximately 6 to 7 weeks after we mailed it we got an E-mail from them (on a Sunday) stating that $580 was still owed, we responded back asking about the price increase. Their response was �You owe the balance that you have made.� And the balance you made was correct. � , still no explanation of any kind, we exchange several more E-mails to no avail. At this time with the wedding coming up, I decided that there really was no other choice but to pay the bill, so that Monday (one day later) we sent them a check for the rest. they never responded back nor did they return any of the E-mails we sent. so after about a week I decided it was time to find another dress. But first I put a stop payment on the check and sent another one certified mail, with a letter telling them that as the check had never been cashed we did not know if it had gotten lost in the mail or what, they never picked up the letter. And we found another dress from a reputable organization.

A couple of week later we got a collection letter from a company for both myself and my fiance, for over $1,800.00, we contacted them and sent them copies of the E-mails, they said they were going to be getting clarification from the company, they never did, but that does not stop them from calling and sending threatening letters to not only me but my fiance, whom never had any dealing with them or signed anything. I also found out that they had turned it over to the collection agency the Monday following the Sunday that they first E-mailed me with the increase in cost. In other words less than 24 hours after telling us what the finial bill was they had turned it over, so obviously they never had any intentions of actually delivering the product. No reputable company would even think about turning you over for not paying your bill, with out giving you a chance to pay it, yet they did it in less than 24 hours from issuing a bill.

I donot know if Darius Cordell Creations or what ever his company's name is now is a real company or not. I just know I had found a dress for my Wedding day that I loved. At first contact everything seemed on the up and up and then it went downhill from there. Totally unprofessional and rude to the point of ridiculous. I am a reasonable person and far from being a Bridezilla. I have no reason to lie about him. He got a deposit from me in a timely manner, well I had to get a dress three weeks before my wedding. I was fortunate to find one I liked and that only needed small alterations to it. He was a disgusting person to deal with and I am out $500.00. I wish you could read the emails he sent me what an idiot. I learned a valuable lesson.

Thank the Lord for this website and the people that took the time to warn others! I saw a dress of his that I loved and I called 2 to 3 times to inquire about it. Of course only a voicemail answered and something told me not to leave a voicemail. That the Lord for intuition. I find it insane that not one person that has dealt with Mr Cordell has been satisfied and have been treated so poorly. Incredible. It was bad enough to see the comments from the clients but to add insult to injury, the comments from the designer, show and prove every comment mentioned. I'm not sure if Cordell is aware of how bad and saddening it is to read all these comments of poor service but we live in a service nation. Service is everything when it comes to the dollar and I'd much rather have someone custom make me a dress and care about my money as well as my feelings. Now you Mr Cordell, should be ashamed of YOURself. Pitiful. How are you still in business? Who would buy from this creep?
