I am a female bus operator at Manhattanville Depot. There are some routes that are very inconvient for bathroom usage. The access to bathrooms are not planned out when these routes are designed. The amount of layerover time that an average run gives you in between trips is not enough time to find a restroom. Some routes are very accessable and others are not, especially at night. There are women/men who are actually using the facilities on the bus. Some men use cups and bottles. This is very degrading. I personally refuse to go this route. I have to call up for a personal when I need to use the bathroom, but late at night it is very dangerous to leave your bus and roam an area to look for a restroom when everything is closed. What should we do? MTA didn't think about this did they? Neither did the union.
