These arent in order cuz I am tired...and they COULD possibly be wrong. I did the best I can to clearly define these terms. If there are any mistakes dont hesitate to reply to this thread and edit my stuff :0

September 11, 1973 – This date was the beginning of the military coup led by General Pinochet in Chile. This produced an authoritarian regime lasting 17 years where Pinochet ordered the systematic killing of over 2000 civilians for "the sake of Chile" so he could solidify his power.

General Rene Schneider – Assassinated during the coup de’tat that removed Salvador Allende from office. The coup plotters had planned on kidnapping him, but shot him instead when he reached for his gun.

Patria y Libertad – a fascist group that consisted of Pablo Rodriguez, Rafael Otero and Jaime Guzmán, among others. This group assassinated Trimming Letelier in Washington DC in September of 1976. A good example of this is like the JFK assassination.

Coup d’etat - the sudden overthrow of a government by a usually small group of persons in or previously in positions of authority. General Pinochet ousted Salvador Allende by means of a coup d’etat.. This is important because Pinochet would become the dictator of Chile and would rule for a long period of time.

Truckers’ Strike - The economy deteriorated badly during the second year of Marxist government and the situation culminated in the trucker's strike of November 1972 which virtually paralyzed the country. The political opposition would have liked nothing better than that the Armed Forces to interfere, especially after the government parties sent mobs rampaging downtown in Santiago and Valparaíso. The Armed Forces high command felt they should not interfere. The trucker's strike forced the government to call on the military. This move was not without precedent. Almost all Chilean Presidents since the time of Balmaceda had relied, at one time or another, on the military.

The “mummies” – is English for “momias” which literally means bourgeoisie. This was important because during the coup d’etat, many of the bourgeosisie wanted the government to create a Militia. They would often chant “Crear, Crear, Milicia Popular.”

Statute of Guarantess - Allende signed a Statute of Guarantees in which he promised to uphold the Constitution and the legal system. This is significant because of the corruption and the abuse of power that was evident in the Chilean government. A good illustration of this is where Allende nationalized all business’ in Chile.
