Paul puttered around the basement, pausing now and again to listen for tell-tale signs that KANE was getting restless. He had a surprise for him, one he was sure to love. Glancing into his work-room one last time, he reached for the wall phone and punched in a few number - rewarded shortly by the deep voice of one 'Taker answering gruffly on the other end.

"It's finished - you want to be here when he gets his first look?" Paul was almost beside himself with glee.

"Done, huh . . ." Paul frowned at the hesitation he heard in the other man's voice. "Yeah - I guess I'm gonna haf' t'be there, we ain't zactly sure how he's gonna take it - "

"Oh - DAMMIT 'Taker! You do this to me all the time!" Paul whined into the phone. "Have some faith in my boy! I know KANE better than he knows himself! He'll be thrilled!"

"Yeah? How can ya tell? Boy don't do much more'n grunt half the time!" 'Taker chuckled before hanging up the phone.

In his apartment, 'Taker hung his head and sent a silent entreaty to whoever cared to be listening to him that KANE would react as Paul hoped. God knew they were at their wits end as to what to do with him these past two years. That last debacle with Tori seemed to've zapped any life that'd been growin in him - to the point where all he did was work out, work when called upon, and growl at anyone that dared to get near him - ANYONE!

Snapping his head back, the American Badd Ass stood up and tossed the bedclothes back on the sleeping form of his latest night's companion. He didn't bother to look back upon the bed - he'd finished with her, and had made sure she knew it. She'd be gone, along with any trace she'd ever been, when he returned later that night. He headed for the shower, a smile actually tilting his full lips - he'd actually missed KANE these past two months, and was looking forward to spending few hours with him. As the scalding hot water sluiced it way over his head and back, 'Taker let a evil chuckle issue forth as his fertile mind hit upon a new avenue in which to tease his "baby brother".
