Don, since you want my name it's Leonard. Sorry, but you are still wrong. Look at the map again & find the area labelled "Nouvelle Hollande" at lower right. New Holland is what Australia was called in the 18th century since it was first charted by the Dutch. Also notice to the left of New Holland on the supposed Antarctic continent there is an area labelled "Nouvelle Zelande"....yup you guessed it..New Zealand depicted as part of the southern polar continent. There is really nothing strange at all about the Bauche map considering the knowledge of the time..all the early map makers placed a continent at the bottom of the world to balance the continents known to exist in the N.hemisphere. The thing about the Orontius F. map is that it's 200+ years older and yet much more accurately depicts Antarctica..including mountain ranges, rivers & bays placed suspiciously close to their now known positions. This was long before (1531) anyone had ever explored the southern ocean..historically. This is also a direct refutation of your statement that...

"It is called The Buache Map and it plainly shows two massive ice sheets and this is what appeared on all the early maps that show a large supposed continent in The Southern Hemisphere."

As I also pointed out, the infamous Piri Re'is map also seems to show Antarctica devoid of ice..circa 1513.
