"Sure.." He reached for the child gladly - he loved this - he had done lots of practicing in the hospital so that he knew he wouldn't mess up in real life. Truthfully he had been a little overwhelmed when the tiny squalling thing had entered the world - it was one thing to read a parenting book and long for a child, quite another to have to care for one. He waited back in the living room.. It was like she had been cued - but really she had actually been waiting inside of her apartment door and rather than jump out and scare the tar out of them in the hall, she had waited.
