I have the American Pioneers and Patriots book, too. That's a great book! I did purchase the tests for the CSOA book, but I can't find it! However, I did make a copy of it for my personal use, so I do have access to the tests. I usually "test" with a more open-ended approach ... like asking my kids to narrate back to me what we've previously read or discussed, or saying something like "Tell me 3 things you learned about yesterday." Open-ended questions usually give the kids a sense of accomplishment b/c they can almost always tell me *something* they learned!

I am not using it with Patchwork Primers this year. I thought I would, but I had so many other great books here in my home to go with each unit that I'm reading those to the children. If I didn't read them now, then many of them would probably go unread because they would be "too young" for the kids when we get back around to Am. History again.

We will be finishing up the 2nd unit next week (week 12) and my goal is to complete the 3rd unit before we break for Christmas holidays beginning 12/14. We'll then take 3 weeks off and begin again in January.
