I'm glad y'all are feeling my story, thanks for the feedback. Here's ch.9, holla at yo girl...

As Long as You Know
Chapter 9

“Dayah, calm down, and tell me what happened,” Christen said still trying to whisper into the phone
“Well, I was in the bathroom changing, and I don’t know what went on, but when I came out, Rell, was holding my cell phone, and yelling at me, saying how he had to take me home. We were in the car on the way to my house, and he just blew up! I have never seen him so mad before, and I asked him what was wrong, and he threw my cell phone at me and told me to listen to the messages. I listened to it and there was a message from Jason on there telling me how much he loved and missed me, and he wanted me to come visit him. I was trying to explain it to Rell, when he just pulled the car over and let me out.”
“At your house, right?” Christen said now sitting up in bed
“No, I’m on 125th and St. Croix Street!” Dayah said screaming and crying
“Girl, that’s nowhere near your house, that’s halfway across town,” Christen said in disbelief
“I know, I don’t know what to do, I can’t call my parents, you were the only person who I could count on,” Dayah said hysterical
“Girl, are there any well-lit buildings around?” Christen asked her kinda scared
“Yea, there’s a 7-11 and a run down coffee shop across the street,” Dayah said looking around
“Ok, go to the coffee shop, stay there, and I’ll be there in a half an hour, aight?” Christen said getting out of bed
“Ok, I’ll be waiting,” Dayah said as she hung up the phone

“What was that all about,” Omari said lying on his side in Christen’s bed
“Your dickhead friend, Jarell, left my girl Dayah on 125th and St. Croix!” Christen said looking in her closet for something to put on
“Why did he do that?” He said getting out of her bed, and putting on his wifebeater
“Because he’s a punk bitch who can’t handle his anger in an adult way, we don’t have time to talk, we have to go get her,” Christen said throwing on some FUBU jeans and a polo shirt
“What you mean ‘we’, I heard that is the worst part of town, are you trying to get us killed?” Omari said sitting back down on her bed
“Nigga, I’ma kill you if you don’t come on, I’m not going down there by myself,” Christen said pulling him off the bed,
“Fine, well can I at least have a jacket it is kinda cold outside,” he said rubbing his arms
“You better put on that suit coat you came over here wit,” she said grabbing her keys and purse
“What? Come on, don’t be cruel,” he said giving her the puppy dog eyes
“Aight, come on, you can wear this,” she said going into Chris’ closet and pulling out a Timberland jacket and some basketball tearaway sweats
“Girl, this don’t even match,” he said looking at what he had put on
“O, we’re not trying to look like we have money in that part of town, we might get mugged,” Christen said tiptoeing down the stairs
“If that’s the case then, why are we driving your 2002 Mazda Miata down there,” he said as she opened the garage and was about to open the door,
“Good point, we could always ride the bus… fool, if you don’t get in this car,” she said as he quickly got in

They drove all the way downtown, past the good downtown, but to the war-zone downtown, full of drug dealers, hookers, and ex-convicts, this was the worst part of town. They drove to the 7-11 and there was a coffee shop two blocks down from there, Christen walked in to see, a homeless man trying to con the cashier out of some money, she went around the corner, past the jukebox, to find Dayah sitting at a booth with her head in her hands dead….asleep on the table.

“Randayah Monique Wilkins, I know you didn’t fall asleep in this part of town?” Christen yelled to her in a parental tone
“Christen Angela Morrison, don’t yell at me at 4:56 in the morning, in the war-zone on the worst night of my life,” she said grabbing her purse and walking towards the exit
“Look, here, I wouldn’t be so hostile if I were you. Only a best friend like me would stop in the middle of my swerve session to come down to the absolute worst part of town to get you because your in-town man found out about your out-of-town boo ahead of time, you understand?” Christen said as she walked beside her
“I’m sorry, but I’m going through some things and the last thing I need is for my best friend to come down here and give me a lecture about what mistakes I’ve made, as If I don’t already know, where’s Omari?” she said all in one breath
“He’s driving around the block, I didn’t want somebody to steal my tires,” Christen said as they got out of the coffee shop as O was coming around the corner he pulled up to them
“Would you two foxy ladies like to boogie on down, with me and my little cherry?” he said referring to the car
“Look, O-lomite, get out of the car so I can take Dayah home,” she said getting in as he got out, Dayah went over to the passenger side of the car,
“Where am I suppose to sit?” Omari said looking cluelessly
“Well, you can squeeze in with Dayah,” Christen said turning on the CD player
“Uhh, next option, please,” Omari said mad that she hurt his friend
“Or we could leave you hear with that bum,” Christen said referring to the man in the coffee shop
“Yea, you would fit right in down here,” Dayah said as she tried to fix her makeup
“Ha-ha very funny, shut up and scoot over,” he said as he opened the door and squeezed in next to Dayah
Christen puts in Ashanti’s CD and “Happy” comes on
“Aww, this was my song to Rell,” Dayah said getting sad again
“Aww, well your new song to Rell should be “Foolish” by Ashanti,” Christen said driving down the street
“That’s exactly what you are, foolish, although, I would’ve used the term stupid as hell,” Omari said looking out the window
“You know what? You don’t know me well enough, to be calling me stupid or any other name. You don’t even know the whole story, so just shut your flat-faced, big mouthed, Jarell-exactly-acting-like ass up!” Dayah said getting pissed off
“Aight, kids calm down, there will be no fighting in this car,” Christen said changing cd’s
“So what exactly did happen,” Omari said trying to get to the bottom of it
“I told you, your cousin got all up in my business, checking my voicemail, on my cellphone, came across a message from my boyfriend back in South Carolina, and got pissed off. He then claimed he was taking me home, but my family must’ve moved without telling me, because I could’ve sworn I didn’t live on 125th and St. Croix before we left for homecoming,” Dayah said giving him the radio edit of the story
“So you had a boyfriend which you never told Rell about?” Omari asked her
“Yea, but it’s not like me and Rell had that type of relationship,” Dayah said trying to scoot over
“What type,” Christen asked her
“You know, the type you and O have, where it’s one on one, you and him and no one else. It wasn’t like that,” Dayah tried to explain
“Dayah, you know how my cousin is, he likes to be with one girl and likes for that one girl to be with him- and him only, he’s all faithful and true like that,” Omari said counseling her
“Then why didn’t he make that clear to me before, so I could’ve been upfront and honest with him about Jason, honestly I didn’t think me and Rell were serious I just thought we were having a good time, you know it wasn’t marriage or anything.” Dayah said getting sad again
“You know, Dayah, you should’ve been upfront and honest with him from the jump, that way there would’ve been no surprises or hidden feelings- Christen began as Dayah cut her off
“Well, thanks for this lovely counseling session, Dr. Morrison, and Dr. Grandberry, but it’s time to go,” Dayah said getting out of the car as Christen pulled up to her house
“Feel better, Dayah, call me tomorrow,” Christen said as Dayah tiptoed into her house
“Dang, I feel sorry for Rell,” Omari said sounding sympathetic
“Rell?! What about Dayah, she’s the one who got left out in the boondocks! While Rell is probably at home slobbing on his pillow by now,” Christen said getting mad as she backed up out of Dayah’s driveway
“Well, if your friend hadn’t lied,” Omari said putting his seatbelt on and rolling down the window
“Well, if your cousin hadn’t been snooping,” Christen said as she stopped at a red light
“Babe, I can see where this is going and we just got back together, let’s not mess that up by worrying about what doesn’t have anything to do with us, aight?” He said as he kissed Christen
“You’re right, I love it when you mediate,” Christen said as she pulled up to Omari’s house
“Well, thanks for the ride I’ll see you real soon,” He said getting out of the car as he kissed Christen
“Ok, bye, Mari-Mar,” she said as he blew a kiss at her and walked into his house

Christen was at home in her bed, falling asleep when all of a sudden, RING RING her phone goes off
“Hello,” she said sleepily
“Christen, it’s O, I just wanted to make sure you got home aight,” he said sounding awake as ever
“Yea, I’m here and was trying to sleep,” Christen said looking at the clock, which now read 6:06
“Aight, well I’ma let you go, I lo…” Omari said as he stopped in mid-sentence
“Huh?” Christen said confused
“I uh, um, left my clothes over there, do you want me to come get them tomorrow?” he said covering up
“Sure, whatever you wanna do,” Christen said, “Bye, baby,” she said as she hung up the phone and rolled over and went to sleep

OMARI POV

Dang, I like that girl so much, naw scratch that, I think I love her but I don’t know how to tell her, but it’s gotta be special
