I am Mr. Mario L. Cuezon. I am a graduate student of the University of the Philippines at Diliman, Quezon City. I come from Jimenez, Misamis Occidental.
Yes, there are Galays in our hometown and I could say there are plenty of them there. I heard they even had a reunion of the Galay Clan. One of our neighbors in barangay Nacional before was a Galay. But I think there are many Galay families in barangay Naga and in hinterland barangays. I even had schoolmates in high school carrying that surname, including one with an incredible beautiful voice.
I will try to ask about the name.
Respond.

Mario,

Thank you for responding to my e-mail. I sent you an e-mail response earlier under your yahoo.com address, I do not know if you received it.

I am sure I have relatives in Jimenez, Misamis Occ. I just do not know if they are residing in Barangay Naga. Is there a Barangay Malibagsak? I seem to remember my mother mentioning a town in Jimenez by that name.

You know I was born in Manila but raised in Pagasa, QC. That place is not very far from Diliman, QC where you are currently completing your graduate work. In fact, as a young adult in Pagasa, I used to play basketball at tournaments around the Diliman area. I hope you are enjoying the area. When are you going to complete your studies. Are you returning to Jimenez afterwards?

Regards to you and your family.

Always,
Ross

Yes, "Galay" is one of the dominant family name in Jimenez, and yes the barangay you were asking is "MALIBACSAN". Will you be interested to contact a relative? Try his e-mail lemael_rs02@yahoo.com , He is Lemael Galay Montero, son of the late Ledivina Galay Montero, brgy Naga, Jimenez. He is presently with the US Army stationed in Alaska and his twin Lemuel, a nurse, is stationed in New Jersey. Both of them are my cousin-in-law. Oops, I do come from Jimenez, barangay Taraka. Good-luck, Neil

There is no Barangay Malibagsak in Jimenez, it's Barangay Malibacsan. I'm Michael Tagbo from Brgy. Palilan, Jimenez, MIsamis Occidental and I also belong to the Galay clan. Most of the residents in our barangay has Galay blood. Hope to see you here! God bless!
