Subject: 2002 CC help...

I need to check some thing I may have stumbled across today.
Can some one with a 2002 or newer Crew Cab take thier upper fan shroud loose and measure the thickness of the radiator core...PLEASE.
Why?...the story:
The radiator shop had a tranny cooler "cheap$" and I stopped by the GM lot to see if it would work on mine , which was back at the shop (trying to save a trip) They had a 2003 Zr5 CC and the radiator appeared to have a thicker core than the 2001 radiator in mine.
So, I stopped in to the parts department and the 2002-2003 do have a different part number for thier radiator.
I would like to find out if we ,who bought the 2001s, did get "gypted" on our cooling system.
Might explain a few things.
