Yes, they can even tell which employees worked on the car. They tell all the guys at the local plant for a large auto maker that some guy threw his empty pop/soda/coke can in to a closed portion of a car. The car made noise and after about 2years the dealership found the problem, and reliezed the can could only have been put there b4 the car was made. Well they found the guy and he lost his job, 2 years after he did it. They are all required to sign onto the line and they log the first vin to the last that they work on.
