I have to say I both agree and disagree.
The GM HEI is great up to 7000 rpm with a hotter coil and all most will need.
The "idea" behind the MSD is to have multiple sparks to create a more complete burn, benifits can be better mileage and performance. This works if you are not getting a good burn now.
A good racing engine is designed for a complete burn and may see very little , if any improvement from the MSD.
I would NOT recommend MSD on a "Boosted" engine only naturally aspirated. The last thing you want on a supercharged engine is multiple sparking. It is a good way to back-fire a blower.
I run a Mallory Hyfire on my HenryJ, it is a hot long duration spark, instead of multiple.
Under boost it does take a good ignition to fire in the dense fuel mix, I have to run a gap of .028 to ensure it will fire at 15:1 compression. (10% overdriven at the track)
JMHO , Peace :)
