Norman .... thanks for responding to my message. I believe you are right in suggesting that the name of the boy's school was Stapleton Avenue. My memory is such that I recall my sisters going to one school and I went to the other. It would seem that most of my friends from Stapleton days have since moved or passed away. Joey Daley who lived next door in Burnage Close died falling off the back of an army truck in Germany ... Christopher Wicksted who lived just around the corner died in a motorcycle crash on The Isle Of Man and Billy MacDougal has disapeared from Burnage Close. The family who lived in #7 when we lived there was the Taylor family but both have since died over the past ten years. Time does go by ... but I have such fond memories of early Speke with Damwoods, Hale Village, Steam trains etc. Ah well ..... life goes on ... my grandkids have no idea where Liverpool is unless pointed out to them on a map. Thanks again for response .... Al Edwards
