Finally giving up on trying to hold on to the world, Jewel falls completely limp in Aoshi's arms, her breathing becoming more and more shallow as her body continued to leak precious life blood. A leaf crunched behind the pair, a little girl looking of about eight standing there. Her wild raven hair looked slightly upkept, and an oversized dress draped her thin frame. Hazel orbs fell upon her mother, the minx frowning. Her mother was dying.

Mommy is dying.

It was stated simply, the little girl never moving her eyes from her beloved mother. The could save her, but her daddy would never allow it...
