I drive a 1993 Honda Accord LX and the D4 light constantly stays on, no matter what gear I am in, (P,R,N,D3,2,1). When I drive it is constantly in 2nd gear (D4,D3,2) unless I change it to 1 which will allow me to hit first gear. At this rate I can't drive any faster than 30 mph without having too high rpms since the car won't shift and I'm afraid of burning or overheating the car because of the higher rpms. My mechanic told me it was the AT Control Unit which I'm assuming is the automatic transmission computer and I had it replaced, but after 2 days of light driving, the light comes back on. I tried googling the problem and someone suggested that it could be the shift control solenoid. Any ideas what the problem could be?
