Hello, shaving your Pekingese is all up to you. It is merely cosmetic. There is one misconception when shaving your Pekingese that it can stay outside in the sun longer, this is inaccurate, and many Pekes can easily get heat stroke. Pekes will always shed whether they are shaved or not. The only way to limit them from shedding is getting them spayed or neutered plus regular grooming to remove the dead hair. On another note, males tend to shed less than females do. You will find the females will drop more coat as they approach there season.
