Subject: Please, Please, Please....pass on a message for me!!!! Please!!

On the LDFR board there is a poster by the name of "Kelosh"
the thread is "Acitivites for the Blind ideas...please help!"

Please give her my email elnora@ycnx.net
I had a blind child for 22 yrs(he has been gone now for 3 yrs as of May 29th)

One of the BEST organizations for the Blind is The Federation Of the Blind.
They have all kinds of training programs for the newly blind adult and all kinds of info for family and friends of the blind.
Also the books on tape for the blind is a free program...kindof like a libary through the mail....at NO cost..and they have anything from childrens books on tapes to adult type topics(you know really adult adult topics). There are cookbooks, mags etc....on tape.

I also could share several other organizations for the blind and the newly blind....most are all FREE!
And if she is legally blind and their income is low enough she would get SSI(a social security program) Most of the time the blind get it almost right away with out the wait and battle that others go through for SSI.
Blind children can get it to...my son was on it from the time he went blind(age 2yrs) until he died at the age of 22.
But blind adults can get it too if their income is low enough....along with the $$ is she gets on SSI she would get a medical card of some kind.

Please just give "Kelosh" my email elnora@ycnx.net so IF she wants she may contact me.

Blessings
Jean
