Its very unfair for children.
I was an only child living with my grandparents.
The both had a drinking problem.
I never knew when they were going to be drunk.
Sometimes I would come home from school and all would be fine. Other times I would come home from school and she would be drunk...asleep on the couch or awake in a foul mood.
If she was drunk then when grandpa got home from work he would get drunk.
I lived with them from the time I was about 13 months old until I moved away to go to college.

Now when they werent drinking they were fine people. We were poor but he always worked and she gardened, canned and gathered wild foods. She was a wonderfully talented cook.

Its very sad just how badly the bottle hurts everyone.
They could have been so much becaues they both talented kind people...but the bottle took it all away from them....and it hurts the kids in a family for life even if you dont drink.
There are emotional scars that are there for your whole life.
I decided becasue of that hell would freeze over before I would let my kids be in that inviroment.
The last drink I took...I was 21 yrs old...I'm over 41(...by a few yrs! :-D )
I will not allow it in my house...PEROID!
I have been told I am unreasonable...tuff tookies!

anyway
I do understand

Blessings
Jean
