Subject: I Wonder if the Term...
In reply to: Bee 's message, "Welll........................................" on 06:07:59 05/23/05 Mon

"flip-flop" has different meanings or is considered real "bad" in different parts of the country. I grew up in the Land of Teddy Kennedy and John Kerry!!!! We used the term all the time...saying, "I'd did a flip-flop," was no big deal. It meant that someone changed their mind about something. Of course in the last election, it had a bad connotation. Bee is right...I meant it as changing one's mind or actions and didn't mean it in a negetive light about Mrs. HK. I was only pointing out that to go from Republican John Heinz to Liberal John Kerry, she must have had to undergo some sort of change to be able to stand living with him. I know that I couldn't stand living with a flaming liberal...and to have to support him in a Presidential election?????!!!!! Of course, Bee also brought up what I refer to as the "hormone" theory. I'm sure that old John can be QUITE charming when he wants to and very likeable. I don't think that he would have progressed as far in politics if that were not true.

Of course we have Marlee Matlin and James Carvell to look to. The hormone theory must be at work there BIG time. I don't know how those two would be able to exist in the same state without killing each other otherwise!!!
