Subject: Nothing was to you, Jean
In reply to: Jean 's message, "I'm sorry I didnt mean to...." on 06:49:28 05/24/05 Tue

I intended only to make a response and to say I'm continuing looking for the good (no harm, no foul). Of course I know you do that, as well, Jean.

But do you wonder we are impressed upon to feel it's a little more dark only for the countless news sources and ways we are able to avail ourselves of tragedy? For a person to sit at home and watch world news on one channel is one thing; to be bombarded via blogs and posts and countless journalistic sources online is another.

Were we to replace Iraq with the Viet Nam war and transport the internet capabilities back into the late 60's and 70's I don't doubt the story would change. There would be much more dark to see, and not just in retrospect.

I am not intending a pollyanna-esque world view in saying this, but to be realistic as I see it. The things we hear, the way we hear them and the number of times we hear them do take hold, methinks. And no matter the dark, we each individually are capable of being light, not only through what we say and do but through what and how we see.

Importantly (now that I've rambled), my post was not to regard anything you mentioned as being a reprimand. I was talking only to my disagreement with the writing on the wall.

Put in other words, if the curtains are closing on Bee, me, or Eppy, I was asking where the administrator function was absent. Not a fan of anyone being left out, it was and is reaching me as akin to high-school cliques. My thoughts were to disagree with an absent parent or any other family members running in at the eleventh hour commanding we are or have been bad, bad children.

I can understand what Kathy says about a wish to accomplish the proverbial 'this or that' with this political forum. But I do not understand, nor do I agree with, the way this is being handled. We can mother board and political board this all until the cows come back home, again, but I stay unembarrassed with my disagreement, and it's not at all personal to anyone here.

Have you noted how well political discussions have played out at what Kathy termed the Mother board. Oftentimes hurt feelings, frustration, choices to leave. Were I a gambler, I'd bet we're doing equally or more well here to simply "get over it," as the saying goes.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Love, Deb xo

but I ain't gonna answer, that's for sure;
There's gotta be something more!"
