The stallion gazed on the stone quietly with his soft hazel eyes. He turned away slowly, leaving his back to the stone. So that was it. Someone had to die in order that he might live. It wasn't fair. He couldn't ask that of another. He couldn't send someone to this world of shadow where everything was real except for you. He couldn't do that to someone else. Never. Had he worked so hard for nothing? So long spent wandering, only to find that the only way out was through blood? Death by blood, life by blood. The stallion turned back to the rock and read it over again. He then spoke a soft inquiry to fate. "Is this it? Is this the only way? I know that life is blood, but i cannot take another's life merely to have my own." He went silent for a very long time, then spoke once more. "Why would anyone give their life to save someone unliving if that dead one had so very little to give?" he waited then, in silence. If this was indeed the only way, then he would probably be lost in this world, alone. Forever.
