I just received my incentive bonus for the year. After taxes, it was a nice 1,200.00. I am feeling VERY good about getting Inner Compass LLC ready.
I'll put 1,000 aside for a down payment on a car when I'm ready to live the horrible life of making car payments. But I'm in no hurry at this time.

The other hundred I'm opening up checking acct for I.C. and sending a check off to get lawyer to Incorporate. I was feeling afraid for awhile...fearing that the law firm was going to back down and not help. When I contacted him yesterday he was ready to get it going. THEN with that finished I'll talk to him about getting investors.
In the meantime, I'm still putting together my investors packet of the company AND I just contacted SCORE. SCORE is the organization of retired execs who counsel new business owners/entrepreneurs. My one weakness is not getting the necessary feedback regarding my business plan. I need to get it tightened up and prepared to be scrutinized by capital venturists.

I also had an idea, and have sent a request for help from the warrior community, asking for any man who has sales skills to contact me if he is interested in selling airtime for the radio show. I had received requests...its just a matter of finding a man who is willing to step up and take on this role for 15% cut of total amount of contract.

Its getting closer.....the engine is being built...the tracks are being laid...I can't wait to be the first to place the first shovel of coal and get this train moving!

Best of luck to you, Jeff. You're definitely on track by contacting SCORE. I've had friends here in Tucson use them with great results. Also, a very wise move to not rush into handling a new car and payments. I hope your streak of good luck continues with a good lead on a nice auto.

More news!
I just talked to a man from the warrior community. He has 18 yrs. of radio advertising experience. Being a man who has gone through the process, is a single father who cares for his 11 yr.old daughter, and believes The ManTalk Show can eventually kick ass, we are meeting next Tues. to discuss in depth. This guy has gone on to doing his own thing, running his own e-advertising business and helping with other creative endeavors.

He has stated he has read my marketing packet and wants to help, so I am excited that he'll be the missing piece I need to make this happen. He did state that I was asking too much so I gotta rearrange my entire pay/expense structure. Even by cutting down my fee by 50%, only asking for $50.00 for (1) minute commercial, once the station is paid and the sales guy gets his 15%, that'll leave me with a nice 40K annual income. (Of course if I have to do additional advertising then the funds will come from the 40K nest egg.) Not bad for doing a one hour show once a week.
The nice thing is, its the start.
I feel confident with this guy as he is very familiar with many people on my list of whom I've been trying to contact or who told me no. With a new price structure and his salesmanship, I have renewed hope.

This guy is also interested in the overall Inner Compass project...I'm looking forward to seeing how well this all work out. I believe this is gonna be a very exciting month!
