Thank you for your reply - and I am so sorry about the Mr.! One should never assume...:)

Anyway, I am pretty sure she is almost seven - she was found as a stray, and with the typical missing teeth, it was hard to tell her age until my vet spayed her and based his estimate on her development at that time. I try not to keep jammies or other clothes on too often, as that seems to encourage the licking on the inside of groin area on both of my cresteds - and let's face it, they just prefer to be naked. She did have a gradual weight gain just over a year ago, and so this past summer we concentrated on having her lose the weight. She did lose about 4 pounds in about 2 months(under the supervison of my vet). Otherwise, she is very healthy and very happy. She is a little obsessive about licking herself, but no other bad habits.

I am so glad you said that about bathing. I felt a little bad, because I don't always bathe every week in the winter; and a book that I have about the breed said that you should bathe every week and didn't address the whole seasonal issue. I just noticed that they don't get as sweaty and stinky in the winter. Plus, I live in Wisconsin, and it gets so cold and dry here, that I noticed their skin gets a little bit dry, so I spread the baths out a bit during these months. It's nice to know my instincts were right!

I realize that you may not be able to tell me why this is happening to her - but if you think of anything else, beside keeping the jammies on for extended periods of time, that I can do or not do to help prevent this, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks Again,
Gina Wahl
