It's quite possible that your baby is splitting the tips of the ears open when he shakes his head, this is very common in Xolos and I've seen it in a few Cresties as well. The ear leather is thin and if not kept moist & supple it will split.

I fostered a Xolo with this and the boy shook his head so hard (while traipsing around my kitchen island) that my kitchen looked like a crime scene with blood splatter everywhere. What I did for him was keep neosporin or bacitracin on the tips of the ears, then take a knee hi pantyhose & cut the toe off. Place the pantyhose over the head (folding the ears on top of the head) with the band to hold them up on teh forehead. This will keep the ears in place while they heal and they can't be split back open when he shakes his head. He's gonna hate it and, he's gonna look REALLY goofy, but it does work. Once they are healed, go purchase some Zim's Crack Creme spray (you can find it any drugstore) and spray a bit of this on the ears every day. Eventually you'll be able to reduce it to every other day.

Now, if none of that works, I suggest you take this dog to a dermatologist. There is a condition called Thromboembolic Vasculitis (TEV)that one of my former fosters had. THe tips of her ears were ALWAYS bloody & scabby. We thought it was allergies at first, but when nothing we did helped, we took her to a dermatologist. TEV is basically a condition where the capillaries carrying blood will block up and then the pressure builds and they literally burst (this is very simple explanation but you get the gist of it) and it generally affects the areas that are the thinnest on the body (ears and tip of the tail are most common). My former foster is now taking a drug called Pentoxiphylline and it has totally healed her ears. Unfortunately, this is a life long condition so she will take the meds for the rest of her life.

Hope this helps some.
