In Feb 07 I rescured a cc hairless male dog 3 years old. He had been left on the side of the road in a crate. Dirty and very hungry when he was rescued. I was fortunate to be able to adopt PING. At the shelter he ran with the other dogs and cats. He had a great personality with the other animals.
At home he was very, very frightened of me and my family. He always ran away from us... Eventually he did settle down. I never leave him..I am retired and give him much love, great care and keep him very clean. He sleeps with my husband and I.
RECENTLY ... he began barking at all dogs walking by our house ...anyone who enters our house and NOW he is biting very hard several people. He will sneak up behind them and bite them on the ankles. When my daughters bring their dogs to visit he will bark and attack each of these dogs. The dogs are non violent and do not growl and are not agressive toward PING.
I am totally at a loss as to what caused this change of personality?????
I am desperately trying to enroll him in an obedience class in Hot Springs but so far no classes have been formed.
He still runs away from us when we call him.... I have been very loving, touching, holding, talking very lovingly to him and making him the center of our home.
He is crate trained but I let him have run of the house and walk him frequently outside. He still has problems with being house broken and often elimiates in the house.
I love PING very much but I do not want him to hurt the people in my life. Could anyone PLEASE help me which some wisdom as to how to help my PING???? Thanking you in advance....Vickie Wheeler
