Hi,
I have two Chinese Crested spayed females aged 2 and 3 and a half. My 3 yr old has been with us since she was 6 months ( I purchased her from a breeder who didn't think she was "show quality" but I think she is the most beautiful baby ever) We rescued our 2 year old last June and she is so sweet and cute! Anyway, Bindi, my rescue, has some significant skin problems, like lots of bumps and whiteheads and her skin is itchy. Martini, my 3 yr old has nice clear skin, but lately it has become dryer ,itchy and "thicker". I have had both to the vet because of this as well as sporatic vomiting and diarrea and tried various foods, always high quality. Now out of frustration with commercial foods ,have resorted to making the food myself. They LOVE it, but I want to make sure I am giving them the right balance. Mostly , I have been feeding them cooked ground turkey, skinless potatoes, peas, carrots and occasionally sweet potatoes. I add a little olive oil too.
I don't see any difference in their skin yet, but they are not having loose stools and vomiting anymore. Are there any particular foods to include specifically for Cresteds? What about vitamins, minerals, calcium? I want to make sure I am doing the right thing.
These are my first Cresteds so I need some guidance..they are definatley different from other breeds in so many ways. I LOVE them so much.
Thanks for any advice you may have for me.
