Hope your little one gets better quickly! I recently had to keep my little rescue baby crated for 8 weeks due to a disk injury in her neck. This is not easy at all so I understand completely. I used the open wire crate (which she is used to and did not do too badly in) and I also got an exercise pen which I could configure by removing panels to a very small square and put her in that as well. This was movable to every room and I put her bed in there with her and a favorite toy. She had barely enough room to stand up and move but she didn't, she stayed pretty much in the bed. It was see through and she could be with us everywhere.
Carrying her around is a great idea if you can like Lee did. I was not able to because I could not let her move her neck, she had to stay very still so as not to cause further injury but for your injury this might work very well. I find when I do carry my little girl around, she feels very secure and happy so it might your little one's recovery easier on you both.
