Mine don't get the swollen eyelids (at least I didn't notice such) but my male was licking and so forth on the feet. He doesn't do it all the time so maybe it is when the grass/weeds are seeding/blooming. I sprayed hydrocortisone on the feet and that seemed to help. I just got it from Walmart or Petsmart. Something to keep on hand with these cresties. One never knows when they'll come up with an itch.

We don't use chemicals either around our property. I have an asthmatic daughter and with those dogs I have just said no. Takes longer to kill the weeds but I say it is worth it. I have had to chase the neighbor when we first moved in out of my yard because she took upon herself to just start spraying. Cheeky huh?
