Hi,

I just recenly learned that up to the main, and CMOS batteries laptops usually have another one -- resume battery. This one is:

"...(sometimes called a "sleep" battery) device [that] maintains information in the system's Random Access Memory(RAM) in the event of a loss of power or a low Voltage state in the main powercell. These devices are usually disposable cells or Nickel-Cadmium (NiCd) and Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMh) packs. They can be soldered directly to the system board (or sub-card) or attached using a wire harness and sub-minature connector ..."

I don't really know whether this applies to Transmonde laptops as well, if does than what it could be and where this battery is located?

And if indeed there's such, could it be related to timely resume-failures?

By the way there's CMOS battery faqs on: http://www.resource800.com/ibmfaq.html.

Thanks,

AB

P.S.
I also thought if anyone had experience replacing CMOS battery on Vivante or Vibrant and does have pictures of battery location or replacement steps, I could post them along witn instructions on transmondeSOS.net. Let me know if you have.
