I am getting the "MCI error-MMSYSTEM 275 cannot find the specified file" when I try to play a DVD! (and some other video "animation" tutorials) I have re-installed the drivers and software to no avail-I read previous postings about the order this is done in-I am not sure about the MPEG2 part of it-could someone walk me through this-I am not very good at DOS commands! What follows is the instructions supplied by Transmonde-maybe someone could amend them!

Thanks,

Ben III

Here's the rundown on reloading certain components to make DVD work properly: (You will want to have the Transmonde Software and Driver CD installed in the computer when you do this)

1.Go to CONTROL PANEL, then SYSTEM, then DEVICE MANAGER.

2.Double click the DISPLAY ADAPTERS branch, then double click the actual display adapter model (Chips & Tech 65555 or 69000). This should give you a DISPLAY ADAPTER PROPERTIES window.

3.Go to the DRIVER TAB and click on the UPDATE DRIVER button.

4.Click NEXT, then DISPLAY A LIST OF ALL DRIVERS IN A SPECIFIC LOCATION......, then click NEXT.

5. Click HAVE DISK button. Tell Windows to look for the driver in D:\\VGA (D being the CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drive). Windows will find the driver and may give you a message asking you if you are sure you want to select the new one..........choose yes. While it installs, it may ask you if you want to keep existing files, select "NO" and replace all files with the new ones.

6.Once Windows finishes installing the driver, it may ask you if you want to RESTART, select NO.

7. Close the open Windows and go to START - PROGRAMS - REAL MAGIC VENTURA - UNINSTALL and follow the prompts to uninstall the REAL MAGIC PROGRAM.

8. Once REAL MAGIC VENTURA is uninstalled go to START - SHUT DOWN and select SHUT DOWN to completely shut the computer down.

9. Turn the computer back on. When it boots it will finish loading the Video drivers, then it will locate and load the drivers for the DVD MODULE. (This is all automated and requires no intervention from you.)

10.Once your desktop is back, select START - RUN - then type in D:\\DVD\\SETUP.exe. Follow the prompts to reload the REALMAGIC VENTURA.

That should be it! DVD will be back up and running. Please call if this doesn't work out for you.
